Prayer

11/14/11- As you know, Mormonism is all over the news. San Antonio is one of the test markets for the, “I am a Mormon” campaign. Please pray for more speaking engagements so that we can inform people about the differences between Mormonism and Christianity.

11/7/11- Typically things slow down in November, but that is not the case this year. Mormonism has been in the media because of the two Mormon Presidential candidates and that keeps us very busy.

We also have a number of exciting projects and opportunities coming up in the near future. Please PRAY that we prioritize and keep up with everything during this busy time of the year. Thanks for praying and may God bless you for His glory!

Yes, we are back from our annual mission trip to Manti, Utah. I’ve got a ton of e-mail to wade through and have been trying to catch up, but one of them caught my eye and must be responded to on this blog. If you haven’t noticed already, there are a number of new links in the right side bar linking to stories about Front Sight Firearms Training Institute and its founder and director Dr. Ignatius Piazza. I first heard about Front Sight by stumbling across the reality TV show, The Front Sight Challenge which appears on Versus. The...

Tuesday, June 19th 2007 We had an interesting thing happen tonight. Becky was handing out tracts and saw a group of people walking towards her. She offered them a tract and it turns out that the group was from a Lutheran church in Denton Texas. The youth pastor, Ron Dupree, had heard me speak at a Lutheran workers conference at Concordia Lutheran Church some time last year. He was interested in Manti and e-mailed back and forth with Becky a couple of times about the possibility of them bringing a team up to Manti and having us do some...

Saturday, June 16th 2007 Part 2 The days are already running together. I passed out a lot of tracts again and got into some short conversations, but nothing very memorable. Since I don’t remember much from Saturday, I thought I would just post some pictures of Becky, James and Rosanne from some of their conversations. I think their evenings went better than mine conversation-wise. Pictures from left to right. Rosanne talking with a group of Mormons. Becky praising God. Rosanne’s conversation from another...

Extra Before I get to Saturday part-2, I wanted to mention something that happened on Thursday night. Aaron Shafovaloff lives here in Utah and often street preaches. He will walk around with a sign and talk about how Joseph Smith had 30 something wives, how some of them were as young as 14 and others were already married to other Mormon men. It usually doesn’t take long before a Mormon will challenge him on what he is saying and then he will direct the conversation onto more important subjects. He also carries a little folding step...

Saturday, June 16th 2007Part 1 Every morning at Ephraim Church of the Bible Christians gather for praise, prayer, ex-Mormon testimonies and to listen to the teaching of a pageant veteran. This morning Becky had the privilege of presenting the Impossible Gospel of Mormonism. (scroll down the page from the previous link until you see the listing.) Becky did a good job and many people came up to her afterwards to thank her for sharing our approach. Not only did Becky get to teach this morning, but she had a very cool witnessing experience in the...

Tonight was MUCH better! The park was packed with tents and the crowd on the streets was a large one like we use to have a few years ago. It started off pretty slow, but as I was talking to Becky, I noticed a young teenaged girl with a camera behind me. She looked like she wanted to take a picture of my T-shirt. Friday , June 15th 2007 We normally wear our team shirt on Saturday’s, but since the biggest crowds are on Friday nights, we decided to wear them tonight instead. (See the May 22nd entry for a picture of our T-shirt) I walked over...

Thursday , June 14th 2007 Tonight at the pageant was pretty slow. One guy I talked to, Brent, was watching me pass out tracts and was leaning up against a pole sending out the, “don’t walk up and talk to me” vibe, so I figured I would walk up and talk to him. He was polite, but was also looking for a way to end our conversation as soon as possible. He took one of my tracts and made it very clear that he wasn’t interested in talking. I asked him what he did for a living and he looked surprised that I asked a question like that. It was...

Wenesday, June 13th 2007 For the last eight years Becky and I have been coming to Manti. We decided six years ago that it would be a good idea to keep a journal and update those who are praying for us with the events of our trip so that they would know how to pray. The first journaling year was a nightmare. We went to the Manti City library and had to use a Macintosh computer. Manti is the only library in the whole state of Utah that uses Macs. Neither of us were familiar with them so we had a learning curve to overcome fairly quickly. Once we...

Manti Team 2007 Prepares For Our Mission Trip

Posted by on Jun 11, 2007 in Blog | 0 comments

Please pray for our team while we are on our annual mission trip to Manti, Utah. Every year the Mormon Church hosts pageants all over the country. One of the oldest and largest pageants is the Mormon Miracle Pageant in Manti, Utah. Anywhere from 3-20 thousand people will show up each night of the pageant so there are plenty of people to witness to. Although this year’s team is smaller than normal, we still expect to see God do great things in and through us. Our team from left to right; Rosanne H., James L., Keith and Becky Walker. The...

Better Than Ballet

Posted by on Jun 10, 2007 in Blog | 0 comments

Our daughter really likes ballet. She is one of the younger girls in her class, but is learning quickly. She is constantly walking around the house doing ballet moves and poses. She will even do them in public when she gets bored. She has been taking lessons on Saturday mornings and looks forward to it every week. For some reason there were no ballet classes today, so I decided we would do something different. Becky and I bought a BB/pellet gun for the kids for CHRISTmas and I thought today was a good day for them to learn how to shoot it. I...
