Prayer
11/14/11- As you know, Mormonism is all over the news. San Antonio is one of the test markets for the, “I am a Mormon” campaign. Please pray for more speaking engagements so that we can inform people about the differences between Mormonism and Christianity.
11/7/11- Typically things slow down in November, but that is not the case this year. Mormonism has been in the media because of the two Mormon Presidential candidates and that keeps us very busy.
We also have a number of exciting projects and opportunities coming up in the near future. Please PRAY that we prioritize and keep up with everything during this busy time of the year. Thanks for praying and may God bless you for His glory!
Moldova Journal # 4
Our first year teaching here, I met a young boy named Genia. The English name would be Eugene. He was interested in the drums so after church, I showed him a few things on the drums. It seemed like all of the little kids liked to hang out near the drums. Now, seven years later, Genia is 18 years old and plays drums with the worship team. He is already a much better drummer than I am. That was cool to...

I am sorry that I have not been keeping up with my blogging. Between my responsibilities here, e-mailing my family and trying to journal, it has been difficult. Today was a good day though and I got caught up on a lot of stuff. I should have more posts up in the next few days. For today, I wanted to show you a picture of Moldovan soup. I guess this country prides itself in their salads and their soup. I tell you what, it is nothing like we have in the US. Now this is a...

On Saturday there were two ladies from Kishinev Bible Church who were baptized by the Pastor, Eugene Sologubenco. Due to the increasing difficulty of finding a place that will allow them to baptize, they were able to hold the ceremony in a local Baptist church. Eugene is leaving for the US next week and asked if anyone wanted to be baptized before he left. He will be gone for two months so these two ladies expressed their desire to follow the Lord in believer’s baptism. For some goofy reason the audio on my camera was not turned on so...

Whew! I left on Thursday and it is already Saturday. Time is flying and I haven’t even started teaching my class yet. As many of you know, I’ve taught a course on Cults and world Religions at Moldova Bible Seminary ever since the year 2000. It has been a couple of years since I have been here and a lot has changed. Before I get into excerpts from my journal (I haven’t written it yet), I wanted to post this funny picture. This scene was in the Frankfurt airport. I have no idea where these folks were from, where they were going...

Check out our new Walker family photo! After the San Antonio SPURS won the NBA championship again, we decided to show our team spirit by dressing up in SPURS t-shirts. Ever since Becky and I were married, we have taken a yearly family picture. We’ve always done it at Sears, but this year Becky wanted to try another place called Portrait Innovations. We were very impressed with the incredible amount of options and the number of pictures that they took during our sitting. In all the years at Sears, no one ever took 72 pictures of us! Not...

This is an amazing video of a pride of lions attacking a water buffalo calf, almost losing it to a crocodile and then getting run off by the buffalo herd. The good news is the calf lives and the cats go home hungry! [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LU8DDYz68kM]

Today marks the 8th anniversary of Becky’s 29th birthday. Our original plans were to take the kids to Six Flags- Fiesta Texas and play with the kids in the water park. We got rained out today so Becky decided she wanted to take the kids to the Children’s Museum accompanied by her Dad. We’re going to try to hit the water park some time next week. Now, a word about my beautiful bride. She has got to be one of the hardest people in the world to shop for. She doesn’t like flowers because they just die, “bling”...
