Prayer

11/14/11- As you know, Mormonism is all over the news. San Antonio is one of the test markets for the, “I am a Mormon” campaign. Please pray for more speaking engagements so that we can inform people about the differences between Mormonism and Christianity.

11/7/11- Typically things slow down in November, but that is not the case this year. Mormonism has been in the media because of the two Mormon Presidential candidates and that keeps us very busy.

We also have a number of exciting projects and opportunities coming up in the near future. Please PRAY that we prioritize and keep up with everything during this busy time of the year. Thanks for praying and may God bless you for His glory!

Friends,I just changed one of the settings on the blog to allow people to post anonymously. Hopefully people will take this as an invitation to participate in dialogue without taking undue advantage of the privilege to hide their identity. Remember, I can always change it back or delete your post entirely! Have fun. 😉Oh, one more thing. This is not meant to discourage you from signing up for a blogger account. Having an account is a neat little way to share a little bit about yourself with others who participate in the same blogs that you...

Beautiful feet?

How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE [tan lined] FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!” (Romans 10:15) Yeah, they tanned in Sacramento, but they didn’t burn. I had put on the world’s greatest sun block- Bull Frog. I just put it on at the beginning of our shift and didn’t worry for the rest of the day. I figured this picture would be a good way to conclude the reports about the Sacramento, CA Mormon temple opening. Regardless of our intentions and...

The good, the bad, and the ugly

Posted by on Aug 20, 2006 in Blog | 0 comments

Today was the last day that Bill McKeever and I were working on the front lines. We had three distinct events that occurred yesterday and today. As the title suggests, one was good, one was bad, and one was just plain ugly. The GoodA Christian who was driving by stopped to talk with Bill McKeever for a bit. He wanted to encourage us by telling us that we were appreciated. Bill thanked him for his kind words, then the man drove off. About 15 minutes later, he came by again and gave us two large bottles of water. Although we had water, our...

Same-o, Lame-o

Being at various outreaches gives us a wealth of experience in talking with Mormons and hearing their complaints and protests about our presence at their functions. Every now and then a Mormon will give us what they believe is a clever quip as to why we should not be there. In this post, I will list a few of the more memorable instances and our responses to them. Yesterday I was walking along the road and a man leaned out of his truck window and said, Hey, haven’t you heard of freedom of religion?Me- Yes, sir. That is what I am...

At least they are honest enough to admit that they lie…

The following post is from the events of Tuesday, August 17th 2006. Compared to yesterday, today was pretty uneventful. I did manage to get hit by a rock that was thrown from a moving car that was full of Mormon youth wearing white shirts and ties. It wasn’t a big rock and hit me on the left knee. I was standing on the corner talking with a Christian man and we both were pretty surprised that they threw the rock. All I could think to say as they drove by was, “Thank you!” There are some Mormons who are out on the corners passing out...

Lies, More Lies, and Mor-mon lies

The following post is from the events of Monday, August 14th. Since I do not have a wireless card on my computer, I am not able to access the internet at will. Monday, August 14th, 2006Today was the first day that Bill McKeever and I were able to visit the temple together. We got into town late Saturday evening and passed out papers for about an hour and a half. The temple is closed on Sundays so today was the first chance we had to go through the temple. Bill has already been through once and decided to go through again with me. To give a...

Sacramento Mormon Temple Opening

Posted by on Aug 8, 2006 in Blog | 0 comments

Last week my Mom told me about a comment that she read in the USATODAY about the Mormon temple opening in Sacramento. I went online and found it here. I thought the timing of the comment was pretty interesting because I leave to minister at the Sacramento temple this weekend. As you read the comments from Jeff Byrd, notice that he uses extremely flammatory language. Words like, “protesters, out-raged, anti-Mormonism, anti-Semitism, persecuted, extermination and hate” do not give the impression that Mr. Byrd is a happy camper....

Today I head over to Wayland Baptist University to sign up for the last class I need to take for my Bachelors degree in Biblical Studies. At the direction of our board of directors, I’ve been chipping away at this degree for a few years now. I left Emmaus Bible College in 1992 with a three-year Associates degree and never thought of getting more education. Well, God has a way of changing things so here we go. One more class and I’m...

I’ve got a new tool I want to try out. Check out the two new additions in the “Neat Tools” section in the sidebar to the right. If you would like to be notified of new posts on this blog, please click on the e-mail reader graphic OR enter your e-mail in the yellow section below the graphic. Remember to do only one of these. If you do both, I’m sure something will blow up. I am not sure which tool I want to keep so it would be good to get your feedback as to which tool you think looks/works better. So sign up for updates...
