Prayer
11/14/11- As you know, Mormonism is all over the news. San Antonio is one of the test markets for the, “I am a Mormon” campaign. Please pray for more speaking engagements so that we can inform people about the differences between Mormonism and Christianity.
11/7/11- Typically things slow down in November, but that is not the case this year. Mormonism has been in the media because of the two Mormon Presidential candidates and that keeps us very busy.
We also have a number of exciting projects and opportunities coming up in the near future. Please PRAY that we prioritize and keep up with everything during this busy time of the year. Thanks for praying and may God bless you for His glory!
From The Jewel Box # 6
Time for another Jewel. 6/28/05- Becky opened our son’s door at the end of his “room time” to find him sitting in his empty laundry basket. He looked up and said, “The princess will find me floating down the river.” He was thinking about the Biblical story of Moses being placed in a basket in the Nile River to be found by Pharaoh’s daughter. I thought this one was cute because our son was thinking about the stories we have read him and he is imagining himself as the main character. We, as Christian parents, are also happy that...

There is a new addition to the Walker family. No, Becky is not pregnant and we have not adopted… a child that is. We’ve had a cat for close to nine years now, but it has been more than twenty years since I have owned a dog. I’ve been on the hunt for the right breed for a few months. Pure breeds are expensive and puppies can be a lot to handle. We decided to get an older dog and to adopt from the Humane Society of San Antonio. Becky and I visited there on a date night and saw three little dogs together in one pen. A...

For those of you who know me well, you know that I have recently (the last 15 months or so) started to participate in the sport of pistol shooting. I own a Springfield XD 9 mm handgun and compete in pistol leagues at the Bullet Hole shooting range in San Antonio, TX. I am on a team of Christian shooters called The Deadeyes. Of the last six leagues, The Deadeyes have taken first place four times and second place twice. Hanging out at the Bullet Hole is a lot of fun. I learn a lot from other shooters and even have some witnessing opportunities,...

http://widget-c5.slide.com/widgets/slideticker.swf We had a great time in New Ringgold, Pennsylvania for the 2006 WNFJ convention. We met new friends and were able to reconnect with some old ones. Well, some of them are old, but you know what I mean. There were many wonderful testimonials and teachings from some great speakers. If you are interested in hearing them, you can contact the Blue Mountain Christian Retreat and order some tapes. My presentation is titled “What’s in a Name- Pronunciation or Reputation?” It was well...

Today is my daughter’s birthday! We’ve got a big day planned for her. She will spend the morning with some good friends of ours, have supper at Chucky Cheese, the spend the night at her Grandma and Grandpa’s house. ******* Important note: We will not reveal the names of our children on this blog. Any comment that mentions our children’s names will be deleted. It is nothing personal, we just feel that it is an important safety measure for our...

Last year when our daughter had just turned four (our son was two) the two of them had this little exchange at lunch time. Our son was calling our daughter to come to the table. Son- Come to the table, come!Daughter- Don’t tell me what to do!Son-What to do! It may not seem funny just reading it, but picture two little kids trying to establish authority over one another. Our daughter, the older of the two, doesn’t like to be told what to do, especially if it is by her little brother. Our son, on the other hand, rebelliously challenges his...
read moreConsistency in Pronouncing the Divine Name
I am working on a paper for my Theology class and wanted to write about something that I could use for our ministry. I decided to write about the history and significance of the Divine name and then tweak it when I am done in order to use it for our work with Jehovah’s Witnesses. I am also speaking about this subject this coming Sunday at Shavano Baptist church in San Antonio, TX and then again at the Witnesses Now for Jesus Convention in Pennsylvania. For more information, check out the calendar on our ministry web site. During my...

When our daughter was two and a half years old, she had a couple of words that she use to mispronounce. Mosquito bites were Spa-gee-tos bites and Oat meal was called Open meal. *******Important note: We will not reveal the names of our children on this blog.
